Castaway Theatre Group

Castaway Theatre Group, also known simply as Castaways, is a Community Theatre Group. Taking children from the age of 5-16 with adults helping and taking part when required, the group has a real sense of family. 


Meeting on a Saturday at The Octagon Theatre, Yeovil, Somerset, the group frequently puts on a variety of shows for the public to enjoy, including musicals, plays and showcases.


The group was founded in 2005 by Lynn-Lee Brown as a way to support various charities, as well as to provide children with good quality teaching and experience in performing arts. Castaways over the years has grown and developed and is full of 90 children.  It is now run by Lynn, Tammie, Kirstie and Andrea, supported by a committee of Sharon, Karen, Alison, Toni and Elaine.

Meet the leaders and helpers who work to keep the group running.

Lynn-Lee
Brown

Lynn is the Director and founder of Castaways. She teaches and works with the children as well as overseeing the other roles, and producing all our productions.

Tammie
Lloyd

Tammie is the Musical Director for Castaways and runs our LAMDA classes.  She assists Lynn in directing/producing the shows too.

Kirsty
Beaumont

Kirsty is the Choreographer for the group and focuses on helping the children with dance numbers, as well as chaperoning and many other tasks!

Andrea
MacLauchlan

Andrea is the Secretary for Castaways.  She chaperones and generally helps where needed!

Sharon
Shire

Sharon heads up our valuable fundraising team, working towards raising funds to help us with our productions.

Karen
Caine

Karen sits on our committee and helps with chaperoning, hair, fundraising and anything that needs doing!

Rehearsals

Castaways hold weekly rehearsals for their main groups at Westlands Entertainment Venue, Yeovil. These sessions can be used for anything from practicing upcoming shows to having fun and playing games. They meet additionally to rehearse on Wednesday and Thursdays as and when required.

Shows

The group puts on regular performances ranging from licensed shows to original plays, as well as showcases featuring a large variety of the group's talented members.
